Jack Dempsey Cichlid

Jack Dempsey Cichlid (Rocio octofasciata) is one of the most recognizable New World cichlids, prized for its dark coloration highlighted by vibrant blue and green iridescent spotting. Known for its confidence and personality, this species becomes increasingly colorful with age and makes an excellent centerpiece fish for experienced keepers.

• Diet: Carnivore/Omnivore with a heavy preference for protein (feeds on worms, insects, crustaceans, and smaller fish in the wild)

• Avg Adult size: 8 to 10 inches 

• Temperament: Aggressive and highly territorial
